Cigna’s July 2021 medical specialty drug benefit updates

Specialty drug costs continue to dominate healthcare spend. At Cigna, we continuously act on insights from integrated claims data, evaluate new drugs to market (such as biosimilars), and seek opportunities to reduce costs and improve health. Beginning on July 1, 2021, we have made benefit changes to certain specialty medications covered under the medical benefit to drive greater affordability.
