Help boost adherence and savings with Exclusive Cigna 90 NowSM

The advantages of a 90-day prescription fill go far beyond just convenience alone. In a recent study of more than 580,000 Cigna integrated customers, results showed that clients who adopt an exclusive 90-day benefit see higher overall medical plan savings.1

Customers who fill their maintenance medication in a 90-day supply achieve:1

  • 12% higher medication adherence
  • 14% lower avoidable inpatient visits
  • $320 per member per year reduction in total medical costs

Requiring a 90-day supply is what makes Exclusive Cigna 90 Now different.
For customers that have Cigna 90 Now as part of their pharmacy benefits plan, adding Exclusive 90-day benefit means customers must fill maintenance medications in a 90-day supply in order to be covered.

Customers can use any retail pharmacy in their plan’s 90-day network. Or, they can use Express Scripts®, our home delivery pharmacy (if their plan allows). Customers filling a 30-day supply of maintenance medications will receive a letter that they will need to switch to a 90-day supply at an in-network pharmacy. At the time of benefit set-up, clients can elect to allow customers one, two or three fills of a 30-day supply before the 90-day requirement starts to apply.

To fill a 90-day supply, customers are encouraged to take these steps:

  • Find/confirm an in-network pharmacy. Customers can log in to the myCigna® App or website.
  • Request a 90-day prescription. Customers can call their doctor’s office and ask to get a 90-day (three-month) prescription2 sent electronically to their pharmacy.
  • Compare medication costs online. Customers can log in to the myCigna App or website and click on “Price a Medication” to see how much a 90-day supply will cost at the different pharmacies in their plan’s network.3
